Policy Coverage

This policy covers how NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION treats personal information that NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION collects and receives from donors. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.

This policy does not apply to the practices of local children’s hospitals, companies that NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION does not own or control, or to people that NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION does not employ or manage.

Collecting and Use

NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION collects personal information when you donate to NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION.

When you donate, we ask for information such as your name, email address, and zip code. Once you donate to NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION, you are not anonymous to us.

NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, and the page you request.

NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION uses information for the following general purposes: to improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.

Sharing and Disclosures

NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION will share your donor contact information with the NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION participating hospital selected during the donor’s gift designation. The donor is advised to review the receiving institution’s privacy policy to see how they will use their donor information.

NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION’s terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.

We transfer information about you if NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Updating Donor/Scholarship Applicant Information

You can change your donor or scholarship information (name, address, etc…) in our database by contacting (?) or by clicking here.

Donors and scholarship applicants who have previously opted-in to external communication lists and services, can also use the above contacts to inform NURSE’S CHILDREN FOUNDATION that you no longer wish to have your personal information shared outside of the organization.

Confidentiality and Security

We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.

We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect personal information about you.

Copyright and Other Intellectual Property

Nurse’s Children Foundation reserves all rights not expressly granted in and to the website and said content. Other than as expressly permitted, you may not engage in the unauthorized use, copying, or distribution of any of said content. All copyright, trademarks, service marks and other intellectual property rights in this site (including the design, arrangement, and look and feel) and all material or content supplied as part of the site, other than user-generated content, shall remain at all times the property of Nurse’s Children Foundation, its affiliates, associated companies, and/or licensors. As a creator of content uploaded to http://nurseschildrenfoundationinc.org or as a passive user of the Nurse’s Children Foundation website, you may not modify, publish, transmit, participate in the transfer or sale of, reproduce, create derivative works of, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, or in any way exploit any of the content on the Nurse’s Children Foundation site in whole or in part outside of the specific usage rights granted to you by each license.

Miscellaneous

If any of these Terms of Use or any other policies posted by Nurse’s Children Foundation management on the Nurse’s Children Foundation website should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the law of any state or country in which these Terms of Use are intended to be effective, then to the extent permissible, such Term of Use or policy, or portion thereof, shall be severed and deleted from the remaining terms, conditions and policies, and the remaining terms, conditions and policies shall survive and continue to be binding and enforceable.
