Leslie has been a registered nurse for 22 years. A mother of 2 sons, she received her BSN from San Francisco State University in 1990. Since then, she has worked as a bedside nurse in medical-surgical, chemical dependency, and oncology. She has lobbied patient rights and nurse to patient ratios. As a chief nurse representative, she supported her colleagues, sitting in on disciplinary meetings and grievances. (more…)

Harvey is the Assistant Director of Radiology for a major Hospital located in the Bay Area. With over 15 years’ experience in management and 6 years of experience as a Radiographer, he works tirelessly to manage his team and interacts internally with other department heads to maintain and improve the overall policy and procedures under his leadership.

Sonya is a graduate of Grambling State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She worked in the Airline Industry for over 16 years, and has served as a member of the New Hope Baptist Church Board of Trustees for over 5years. She is a single mother of a 13 year old daughter; who has benefited from the generous financial contributions of organizations that assist students with achieving their educational dreams. While training as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner at veterans Administration Hospitals in California, Dr. Robert Pope observed that a large number of older veterans had histories and diagnoses of substance use disorders. Based on his clinical observations and his intellectual curiosity, he developed an interest in understanding the basic social processes surrounding illicit drug use among older African American men. As a SAMHSA Fellow, he continued to deepen his knowledge and clinical acumen about the phenomenon. (more…)

She has over 25 years of experience focusing on personal growth and business development. She has addressed audiences throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and other metropolitan areas, teaching, coaching and empowering others to recognize and develop their personal and professional abilities. Adele has been an RN at Summit Medical Center for the past 25 years. She chaired the Professional Performance Committee for four years. This is a union driven committee which acts as a liaison between staff nurses and management. Her contributions to many non-profits provides her some insight into the health risks and hazards of the nursing profession. (more…)

Victoria works as a Staff Nurse II at Kaiser Permanente in Vallejo, CA. She received her A.A. degrees in Nursing, Science, and Liberal Arts from Solano Community College. Ms. Rondez served as Chief Nurse Representative for the California Nurses Association’s Kaiser Division from 2007-2009. (more…)

Beckie is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California/Samuel Merritt University. She has practiced as a bedside nurse for over 16 years and is currently employed by Kaiser Permanente. Most of her career has been dedicated to women and infant care in the Postpartum and on the medical/surgical and oncology units.
